This is my character for X3 I've been wanting to join for a while and was happy to see them finally opening up for new members again X3 bfjks I-I hope my app will make it in ;^; If not...I'll just use him for a personal LOK fan character >u>; LOL Anywho, this is my Fire bender Oc, Yueki ( Pronounced: "You-a-key" ) ( Likes to be called "Yue" though XD; ) Vanhi. ;w;b Wish me luck!

Skills:
~ Artistic skills: Being an artist by trade, Yueki has great talent creating just about anything you ask of him. Though he prefers to draw and paint.... he’s also able to sculpt, sew and do pretty much any other physical art type. He never goes anywhere without his art pad and a pencil, in case he runs into something that inspires him to draw. Some of his favorite things to draw are animals and landscapes.

~ Fire bending/General Combat: Like his father before him, Yueki has great skills in firebending. However, his power tends to go at two levels. He either creates very weak, but extremely well controlled fire where he could even write things in the air or even make a picture in the sky with his fire. OR Extremely powerful flames with little to no control. He can still use them to fight and does so quite well...however, he tends to burn everything else around him as well. His favorite move is to form a dragon with his fire and blast it at his opponents. He only can control it for a few seconds however. Since his father owns a martial arts gym, he was also heavily trained in many different fighting styles which he uses alongside his bending and on its own. He specifically likes to use Tae Kwon Do (He likes to kick people XD )

~Good with animals: Being a rather solitary person who doesn’t tend to like to interact with anyone, he found he really liked the company of animals. Animals seem to trust him easily and he won’t show fear to larger, more powerful animals. He wishes to one day own an armadillo lion (Tiger variation ) As it is his favorite animal.

Personality:
Yueki tends to keep to himself for the most part and doesn’t like much interaction with other people. For the most part he tends to be very quiet and reserved, rarely speaking unless spoken to. He does, however, have a NASTY temper. When provoked in the slightest way, he’ll often blast fire without warning in your direction. If you provoke him further, he’ll attack full-out. He was very little patience for stupid people ( or what he deems as ‘stupid’ ) and would rather be left alone then having to deal with them.

Despite all this, he can be very gentle when dealing with animals or his artwork and will smile from time to time when he’s happy. He just tends to hide it under a mask as often as possible. If he can learn to trust you and considers you a friend, he’s almost blindly loyal and would always be there for you. If just tends to take a lot to get on that list.

He often comes off as a jerk because of his temper and unfriendly demeanor, but he almost never means to. He’ll often feel badly if he upsets someone without meaning to....and sits there wondering what he did, only to beat himself up about it later. He’s also quite smart, but his temper often makes that hard to see.

Background/History:

Yueki was born and raised in the Fire nation capital with his Fire bending father and earth bending mother. At a young age, he showed promise of being a powerful fire bender, so as soon as he was able to start training, his father began to teach him fire bending along with many different types of martial arts that he trained in the gym they owned.

However, shortly after he turned 10, 4 years after his brother ( an earth bender ) was born, he started to show signs of having a nasty temper. That mixed with his fire bending made him dangerous, so his mother tried to find different outlets for him outside from fighting. She eventually discovered a sketch book he owned filled with many amazing pictures he drew over time when he was bored. She quickly began encouraging this talent, much to his father’s displeasure. He soon grew to love drawing and painting more than fighting and training in his family’s gym. Each month, he tried working on different art forms, from oil painting, to sculpting, to sewing ( embroidery ) to pottery. Once he realized he was really good at it and started putting more focus into perfecting it, he started to become less and less angry and though his temper was still present, it was now better controlled.

His father, however, was not so happy about this. He wanted his son to inherent the gym and didn’t want him wasting time with his ‘doodling’. He was already training his brother, but he was more interested in becoming a probender then an owner of a gym. So needless to say, it was all falling on Yueki. After a few fights – some ending in things getting burned to the ground – Yueki finally had enough. At the age of 16, He packed up his things and ran off to live with a close friend of his for a few months. During this time, he drew pictures of the many animals his friend’s family owned in their zoo and grew very attached to one animal in particular – an Armadillo lion.

His friend owned one that he used to ride on that was a tiger variation of the animal. At the age of 18, Yueki made the decision to travel around the world and draw as many different things as he could, so that he could start making a living off his artwork. His friend let him borrow his Armadillo tiger during that time to travel more easily throughout the world. At the age of 21 – 3 years later – he got word that his mother had taken ill and headed home, returning the animal to his friend and going back home for the first time in years.

After 6 months after returning home, his mother took a turn for the worst and she passed away. His father became cold and though he no longer wished to fight with his son about his future, the two never got along well again. His brother promised him that he would look after things there and sent him on his way again to prevent anymore conflict between Yueki and his father. At that time, he traveled to republic city – the only place he didn’t get to on his journey – and after a few days of wandering the city, he decided to set up shop there and start living on his own.

As a parting gift, his brother gave him a large sum of money given to him by his mother in her will and he used half of it to buy a house and design the front part to be his shop. The other half he saved away in case of an emergency or he had a bad month selling his artwork. Needless to say, he became somewhat cold and is struggling to interact with people again after being away for so long on his travels, but he’s working on it and trying to make a living in Republic city. His friend also promised the sell him his own Armadillo tiger once he saved up enough money made from his artwork.

Five years later, he's doing quite well for himself, however, The recent events dealing with Amon has put him on edge, however and he’s not looking forward to dealing with any equalists.

Rain. Oh how Yueki hated it so.

The continuous stream of water coming down from the skies always doused his fire and put him in a foul mood. He also always felt drained and tired during these times, so he much rather be sleeping. But alas, he had a client who hired him to paint a portrait of their cat.

Yes. A cat. Not of themselves. Not of their family. A Cat. Oh, was he ever going to enjoy this...except the fact that it was raining. But he could live with that for one day.

When his client – a middle-aged, rich lady – entered his shop and placed the animal a satin pillow her assistant brought in with her, he had to resist rolling his eyes. She was going to be one of those customers who watched his every brush stroke and would ask to give her feline a break every 5 minutes. He could tell already. This wasn’t going to be a good day for him.

“I want you to paint a beautiful picture of Amy that I can hang up on the wall over her fireplace. Money is of no concern. I’ll pay you want ever you want!” Said the woman.

Great. The cat had its own fireplace. He really hated people like this. Yueki realized after moment that he must have been staring blankly at her for sometime by the way she began to fidget and quickly shook himself out of it and forced a smile.

“Ah, yes. I can do that. We can discuss the price after I’m done the initial sketch so I know if you like it well enough for me to continue or not” By the pleased look on her face, Yueki knew to continue on with that plan, gathering up his art supplies and setting himself up to work. He twitched a bit as he heard the rain start to come down harder. He was starting to feel drained and tired now, so he had to make this fast.

Within minutes, he quickly had a beautiful sketch of the white, fluffy cat laid out and ready for his paint. He showed his work to the client and she squealed in delight...making Yueki cringe from the sound. She paid him a hefty amount for the painting, even though he said it would be less than half as much, but he wasn’t going to complain. It wasn’t often that a client willingly gave him MORE money then he asked. He was just going to keep his mouth shut.

He then got to work, painting the cat. Once he was finished, he put a seal on it so it wouldn’t get wreaked and wrapped it up for her. He forced another smile as she left and released a heavy sigh once she was gone. Time for bed. Finally.

He turned to close the shop up only to hear the familiar bells chime as another person entered. He really couldn’t win today. Oh how he hated rainy days.

Additional Info/Interesting facts:
~ He loves animals and plans to own a Armadillo Tiger ( A variation of this creature:~~~> avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Armadill… Once he’s saved up Enough to buy it off his friend. Said friend let him borrow one during his travels and it quickly became of his favorite animals.
~ The scars on his face were caused
~ He has one Golden eye and One purple eye ( the one you can’t see well in this picture, where the scars are )
~ He gets really tired when it rains and feels like his energy has been zapped away. Because of this, he tends to nap or want to sleep as soon as he sees rain clouds forming.
~Yueki can’t swim very well and has always had a fear of drowning. So he tends to panic if he’s tossed in water and quickly drowns himself. He CAN swim enough to keep himself afloat if need be...when he’s not panicking that is.
~ Though he was trained to fight with both his legs and fists....he prefers to use his legs to kick his opponents down...because he doesn’t want to hurt his hands in a fight.
~His fire bending has two settings. 1) Very weak, but highly controlled flames. Able to draw pictures in the sky with his flames, etc and 2) EXTREMELY powerful flames....which next to NO control over them XD; He’s trying to find a happy medium between the two, but he’s always struggled with it.
~His strongest attack melds the flames into the shape of a Lung dragon as it gets sent after you. It only lasts 10 seconds before he losing his control over it however and he could very well get attacked for his own flames.
~ He has a dragon Tattoo that starts on his Left Shoulder and partly goes down his back, and all down his left arm. He drew the design himself and had a tattoo artist he knew well put it on him.
~ He has a bit of trouble warming his body up using his chi. He can do it just fine.... however, he often over-heats his body and can cause a fever to spark without meaning to.
~ He gets cold VERY easily.
~He’s trying to learn to lightning bend....but it’s not going so well XD;
~ All the designs, etc on his outfit (s) he drew himself and sewed onto them.
~He is never without a drawing pad or pencil. He’ll stop and start drawing the most random things out of the blue when inspiration hits.
~ He can use his fire bending to launch himself into the air and ‘fly’ for a very short period of time. He learned how to do it so that he could draw animals that were up in places he couldn’t climb. XD He’s still working on it though.
~ When he’s not liking his artwork, he tends to burn it in frustration.
~He'll sometimes breath out fire if he's getting annoyed or angry with someone.
~ He was born with black hair and dyed parts of it himself using different dyes he often uses in his artwork.
